Pacer521 (Henry) is one of the only (if not only) well known political blogger under the age of 16 on the web. He is thirteen and lives in Los Angeles, California. The seventh grader was introduced to blogging in July of 2008 at a conference in Park City, Utah. At the time, he more or less didn’t understand popular news and culture, but somehow got incredible interest in those topics. His “strange trance,” as he would call it, has prompted him to read dozens of books on politics and political theory, and he has since been recognized and published by magazines, newspapers, and blogs. He has become a full time, daily blogger, with some restrictions because of school. Now racking up an average of 400 visits each day on his blog, Henry’s posts arouse heated comment section debates as well as numerous discussions. He has been time after time received as a writer rather than a teenager, and because of this he has been given many publishing offers. When asked about his success, Henry says he never would have thought he would be a successful blogger, especially on the political side.
He currently writes and manages The Blog at The End of the Universe located at http://culturedecoded.wordpress.com. Below is an excerpt from the about page of his blog:
Culture Decoded is a political, but otherwise broad blog that I empty my mind on. I am a 13 year-old slightly liberal writer living in Los Angeles, California, and my work has been cited and published across the web. I am a full time blogger here so if you like my work, please come back frequently, as I will post new work daily. I greatly encourage comments and answer back to all credible ones.
